NG Metall Welcomes Roy Hammer as New CEO

Claes Merborn has decided to step down from his position as CEO of NG Metall, a part of the NG Group. Roy Hammer has been appointed as his successor. NG Metall is recognized as a leading player in circular solutions for iron and metals, with advanced facilities in both Norway and Sweden where several hundred thousand tons are recycled annually.

After years of extensive travel and commuting, Claes Merborn has chosen to step back from his role as the head of NG Metall. This decision is motivated by a desire to reduce travel time and spend more time at home in Sweden. Merborn will continue his involvement with NG Group by holding board position and serving as a strategic consultant.

"I would like to thank Claes Merborn for his outstanding contribution over the years and look forward to continuing our excellent collaboration through his new roles," says Bjørn Arve Ofstad, Group CEO of NG Group.

Roy Hammer steps into his new role with a strong commitment to continue NG Metall's significant ambitions. "It is both meaningful and exciting to work towards a more circular and sustainable future. I look forward to collaborating with customers and partners, and all our skilled employees," says Hammer.

Hammer has an extensive background from leading industrial companies like Alcoa, Hydro, Sapa and Elkem.
